If this doesn\u2019t help, sweating starts to cool skin through evaporation<br \/>Next step is to accelerate the pulse to circulate blood faster for cooling.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Heat exhaustion<\/strong><\/em> occurs when the body works at full capacity to cool.<br \/>Signs and symptoms are a weak and rapid pulse, profuse perspiration, cool and clammy skin, nausea and weakness.<br \/>This person needs to cool off. The correct reaction is to end the dive.<\/p>\n<p>Uncontrollable shivering precedes <em><strong>hypothermia<\/strong><\/em>.
